VIDEO: notjustOk Interviews SauceKid (Road to African American Album)

African American will finally drop everywhere including notjustOk.com on Friday, July 30 under Storm 360.
notjustOk had a chance to catch up with SauceKid to ask him a few questions including why it has taken so long (since 2008) to deliver the African American album, how and why he hooked up with Storm, what to expect from the album and more.
I had a chance to listen to the album and I will tell you that it is a very well rounded album, but you can be the judge after you buy the album on the 30th of July.

RICO WHITE.....IT ALL STARTED WAY BACK WHEN I USED 2 GO 2 CHURCH. I WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER IN THE CHOIR & PLAYED 3 DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS. AFTER THE SMOKE CLEARED, I ADVANCED AND TRAVELLED 2 "NIGERIA" 2 CONTINUE MY EDUCATION. IN "NIGERIA", I ALSO ATTENDED CHURCH AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHOIR AT ST.MARYS' OFF APATA, IBADAN - OYO STATE NOT TOO FAR FROM RING ROAD. AFTER THE SERVICE, MY DUDES WOULD BRING THE CRATES AND STICKS AND WE WOULD MAKE BEATS PLUS FREESTYLE TILL SUNSET. I ALSO WENT ON TO FORM AN AFRO HIP-HOP GROUP WHEN I RETURNED TO LAGOS, VICTORIA ISLAND. WE WENT AROUND CHALLENGING OTHER AREAS/GROUPS AND DESTROYING THEM...BY FORCE!!! AS TIME WENT ON, I STARTED MAKING A NAME FOR MYSELF AND THE WORD SURELY SPREAD THAT RICO WHITE/BOY PEE WAS IN TOWN. THE WORD GOT BACK TO ICEBERG SLIM IN NEW YORK CITY AND HE SET UP THE AFRIGANG ENTERTAINMENT CHAPTER IN THE STATES. MILWAUKEE/BUCK 3000 WAS HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THE AMERICAN HIP-HOP/R&B SCENE AND STARTED TAKING AN INTEREST IN OUR NEW STYLE OF MUSIC. WE ALL LINKED UP AND MADE IT HAPPEN AND NOW WE'RE UNSTOPPABLE....AAOOWW!!! THE VIVID LASER EYE GUY/COUSIN BLEU IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HIGH DEFINITION PICTURE THAT U SEE OF US. THE ILLEST THING ABOUT THIS WHOLE STORY IS THAT WE ARE ALL FAMILY....ME, ICEBERG SLIM, BUCK 3000 & BLEU/VIVID LASER - IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT PARTIES & DANCING. MOST OF THE RECORDS WE HAVE AS A GROUP ACTUALLY HAVE A CONCEPT & MEANING BEHIND IT. MOST SONGS POINT OUT THE ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS & SOCIAL INJUSTICE WE ALL FACE AS A NATION. IN MY TRACKS, "NIGERIA" & "LETTER 2 NIGERIA", I POINT OUT THE SAME THINGS FELA KUTI WAS FIGHTING FOR. IF WE DON'T SUPPORT EACH OTHER, WHO WILL? LISTEN TO FELAS' TRACK TITLED "BUY AFRICA". WHEN IT COMES TO NEW AFROWAVE MUSIC, YOU'LL SEE THAT WE'RE VERY VERSATILE WITH THE MUSIC. LIKE OBAMA, "YES WE CAN" & "YES WE WILL"!!! REMEMBER 2 ASK 4 DAT SOULFOOD MIXTAPE (ICEBERG SLIM) WHEN UR DONE.

FOR BOOKINGS & ALL OTHER BUSINESS INQUIRIES, LEAVE A MESSAGE OVER AT WHITEBOYPEE@GMAIL.COM AND IT WILL BE HANDLED ACCORDINGLY IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER.

Mima - ''Kanyin'' official Video

Mima Ikyor is about to give the music industry a run for its money. The Lagos based unsigned R & B soul singer releases her first music video, ‘Kanyin’ that is guaranteed to be a hit. Mima has been pursuing music, professionally, since the past two years. She prepares to launch her first album December 2010. Mima graduated with a BSC in Sociology from Kogi State University and originally hails from Benue State.

“Kanyi means what do you want,” said Mima in an exclusive to LadybrilleNigeria.com. “It is a Benue language and is where I am from.  .  . My inspiration for my music comes from my experience and passion.”

Mima styled herself in this video. Not bad for an emerging artist on a limited budget. Watch out for her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SINZUUUU!!!!!!
It goes without saying that Sauce Kid is Nigeria’s BEST rapper without an album to his name, and one of the very best when compared to the other big names in our industry. With the release of a mixtape and a few singles in the last couple of years, he’s graced the covers of magazines, stormed the charts, and lit up club scenes from Lagos all the way to Abuja down to Benin. Now, the long-awaited debut album titled “African American” will FINALLY be released under Storm Records on the 30th of July, 2010!
The song, “Sinzu is Sinzu”, which was meant for a birthday release, “accidentally” leaked on a few sites over the weekend. However, this Funky House version online will NOT appear on the final cut (the beat is different).
I’ve had the privilege of listening to the album in its entirety, and I’ll tell you guys one thing: it’s TOTALLY worth the wait! Whether you’re a raphead, a party animal or just the “listening” type, you’ll find something in there that will appeal to you. Mark your calendar, guys! July 30th will be here in no time!

African American Album Cover
As a reminder, the release of the African American album will be quickly followed by a mixtape drop titled “Da RipOff”. That’s not the end; a 3 volume mixtape is also in the works. Its title will be announced at a later dateh.

Jay-Z Addresses Devil Worship And Illuminati Rumors On Rick Ross Album

In the court of public opinion, many have deemed Jay-Z a devil-worshipping member of a secret society.

However, the rap mogul defiantly denies the allegations on the new Rick Ross Teflon Don album on a track called “Free Mason.”

According to MTV, the rapper raps:

"N***as couldn't do nothing with me, they put the devil on me. I would have preferred n***as squeeze the metal on me/ Rumors of Lucifer, I don't know who to trust/ The whole world wants my demise, turn the music up.”

Additionally, Jay says:

"If y'all n***as fear me, just say y'all fear me. F**k all these fairy tales/ Go to hell, this is God engineering/ ... I said I was amazing/ Not that I'm a Mason .../ I'm on my third six, but a devil I'm not. ..."

Jay-Z has addressed the accusations in interviews, but never express the sentiments with such passion.

“Free Mason” appears on Rick Ross’ Teflon Don abum, which is in stores June 20..

Tmoney - Brand nu Single:''let me get M''

The much-maligned T-Money, who caused a huge uproar here on the site after we posted his Kelly Hansome “Warning Shots” has returned with a new tune. This time, he’s going in with 100% yoruba hiphop, spitting lines in a manner likened to the late hiphop Legend, DaGrin. I gotta say T-Money flows better in yoruba. Maybe… just maybe… he could make an impact if he stays on this yoruba route seeing that there’s a huge void left to be filled.

The Super C Big Give Away Begins NOW!

As Anticipation builds for the impending Release of Super C Season the next official album from Cerious Music/ Storm Records recording artist Naeto C he has decided to continue his engagement with his fans by making available previously unreleased music for exclusive free downloads. Over the past 5 years, Naeto has recorded over a 100 tracks many of which have not been released, as a focused professional artist, he stays busy in the studio either recording mixtape material or material for earlier projects such as WFA collaborations, also his own recording process for his debut album. In the coming weeks you can expect the exclusive release of a couple of mixtapes Introducing Naeto C: The Lost verses.

We just felt that it would be nice for his fans to feel some of his earliest material and hear his evolution from a pure hardcore emcee on strictly hardcore beats to the more complete artist that has evolved who is comfortable across genre from naija urban to dancehall, to a writer who pens some of the sweetest melodies in the game and who has worked as a co-producer with some of the best emerging artists in the country and globally. From Young Nations and Draztik in South Africa, to Jayso and the Skreelions in Ghana, to his original crew out of the States and even some rare unreleased freestyles we hope you will listen and enjoy some of the major flavors coming from Mr Super C.

To Kick off the series we already made the p mix of Successful available, up next are three of our favourites, The classic "Gidi is Mine", recorded for the debut album but unreleased, enjoy this lush production with that extra smooth flow and of course Naeto takes it home, then on Bedrock(the P Mix) Naeto C can be heard having fun on this Young Money Monster hit and he nails it " she wants a burkin bag...........beans". Finally as part of this kick off we are excited to put out his classic mixtape joint called Gotta Understand, recorded off the dome in London in the Summer of 06, and released on the Storm Report Mixtape and the Wfa Mixtape in 2008 this track was noted by the world famous dj Kofi in 2006 who told us on the spot this kid can take it global. Many Naeto tracks have two or three versions and in the coming mixtapes and freebies we will make all of them available so that all his fans can have some more material to hold them until the album drops

Coming Back to Super C Season, the long awaited Video for the official second single, the monster club and radio single Duro ft YQ is wrapped and will be hitting screens near you any moment now. Download Dbanj - ''Mr Endowed''

The Koko Master is BACK with his new single ‘Mr Endowed‘ as previously mentioned off his up coming album which also happens to be titled Mr Endowed. We know D’banj just signed a major international record contract, but there is still no confirmation from Mo’hits records on what record company Dbanj signed with.

You can tell that this track is geared to an international audience while still staying true to the Nigerian market content wise. Don Jazzy shows us his versatility and authority on the beat-box while D’banj advances his story as an Entertainer to now being ‘Endowed‘

Speak your mind on this new track from the Koko Master.
